Some Extra Long Days.

Thursday Morning around 3: 00 A.M  found us, ( Caleb and I) out in the cow field trying to find one of our heifer cows that had been in labor earlier that night,  to see if she had made any progress. When we finally found her nothing had happened, so into the round pen she went so we could check things out.  We found one enormous calf that was very STUCK! we ended up having to pull  for 45 min. to get him out. He was born very limp and non-responsive. The next couple days where full of tube feeding,Shots, with early mornings and late nights. leaving us exhausted.  I've never been so happy to see a calf stand up on its' own and nurse. He's now a normal spunky, stubborn little guy.  And we've have been getting a kick out of my mule trying to adopt him although it's a little annoying since she's "protecting" him from his mom. Four days later when we went out to do chores,  low and behold, another cow was calving and she was almost done.
What a relief! (although I was sad to miss most of it) another Bull!
Two down, five to go.

Little MR. Trouble.

The newest little guy
